The Real “Dirty Jobs:” “The Worst Jobs in History” Series

Next time you are bummed about having to sit for hours on end writing a paper that seems like it will never end perhaps you should take a break, watch “The Worst Jobs in History,” and stop whining, because in reality you don’t have it that bad.

I had fist watched parts of this series a very, very long time ago. I was just reminded of it when I was scrambling for stuff to blog about. It used to be shown on the History Channel. HAHAHA no, you silly people not that History Channel, which I now refer to as the “History” Channel or as “That Channel,” this was on History International, where some of the real history shows go to hide out from massacre by the Nazi’s and Aliens regularly shown on the “History” Channel- ok, ok end rant.

This program takes a hands-on look at different eras in history and some of the really crappy jobs that were a part of them. The first series focused on eras such as Victorian, Georgian, Tudor, etc. The second series was based on job setting such as industrial, maritime, and more. The show was hosted by Tony Robinson, who is simply hilarious and he does a wonderful job in showing the real anguish of the jobs that were incredibly undesirable in history.

This show does a wonderful job at illustrating the hard work, poor conditions, and thankless professions performed throughout time. This program highlights an area of history that is wholly ignored within the professional history field. This show is educational, entertaining, and awesomely revealing.
In my opinion, this show should be a “must watch” for all students of history.

I believe, today, you can access most of the entire episodes via Youtube. So, I invite you to watch it and enjoy.
